Dr. Lauren West, O.D

Life is a grand adventure, and when life brings someone back home, that’s a homecoming worth celebrating!

Dr. Lauren West is proud to return to her hometown of Prescott. As a graduate of Prescott High School, she feels life has come full circle in “Everybody’s Hometown.” We’re excited to offer Dr. West the opportunity to provide exceptional care to her longtime neighbors and friends.

Dr. West’s academic background is filled with excellence. She graduated Magna Cum Laude and with honors from the University of Arizona, earning her Bachelor’s degree in Molecular and Cellular Biology with a minor in Spanish.

Dr. West completed her medical training at Midwestern University Arizona College of Optometry in Glendale, Arizona. During this time, she had invaluable experiences laying down the groundwork for humanitarian purposes. Dr. West served as treasurer of SVOSH (Student Volunteer Optometric Services to Humanity), volunteering on numerous mission trips to Miguel Alemán, Sonora, Mexico and to Meoqui, Chihuahua, Mexico where she provided eye exams and glasses to underserved communities.

As a student, Dr. West was also a member of the Gold Key International Optometric Honor Society, a prestigious organization that recognizes the top ten percent of each class.

After receiving her doctorate, Dr. West returned to Tucson, where she completed a residency in Ocular Disease and Low Vision Rehabilitation at the Southern Arizona VA Health Care System.  After completing her residency, she worked at a private medical practice in Tucson until moving back to Prescott.

Dr. West provides comprehensive eye care and is trained in the management of ocular disease including glaucoma, macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, and cataracts. Dedicated to providing exceptional eye care and quality patient education, she looks forward to continuing education regarding advancements in the ophthalmic community.

When she’s not serving her patients, Dr. West fills her time with many passions. Next time you’re in the office, ask her about her love for collecting succulents, hiking, yoga, or spending time with her animals (two dogs, two cats, and her hedgehog Hamilton).
